Photo Post!

So, for my birthday, Nick got me a fantastic little point and shoot camera. As much as I love my SLR, I can't exactly throw it in my purse for snapshot moments. And, with the baby coming up, I know that I'll want to have something small quick and easy on hand for all those photo ops!

Here's how I've been entertaining myself at home... 10 minutes at a time (roughly). Though, I have to be careful, because hoola hooping automatically brings on a contraction or two, and makes it more difficult to increase my score on wii fit :)
Ah, here's a "myspace" type belly shot. I'll take another one soon enough, but I'm getting sick of seeing my face in these pictures as it's a little more round than I'm used to.
Last night, we drove up to the Berkeley hills for the sunset... how pretty is this?!
Ah, my poor ankles! At the end of an evening, they swell up so bad I can't bend them. They really hurt now... I don't think this shot does them justice, but it's a friendly reminder for the next pregnancy what's to come:
AND, Nick and I... not the most flattering shot, but I like to keep any picture of the two of us, as we don't take them as much as I'd like to.

So, there goes the first batch of snapshots off the camera... I love it!

Belly pics!

This is what happens when you've recently been to BRU (Babies R Us) and JoAnn's fabrics and discovered the cute little iron-on's. So cute! Hey, at least it kept me at home!
My first attempt at a self belly shot.. I haven't done this since the beginning, now I know why!
Oh, why not... here's my fully exposed belly with a really stupid expression on my face!
And, the traditional one, to compare with the others.

To compare to my pre-pg stats:
Weight - Then: 130, now: 173
Bra size - Then: 34B Now: too scared to actually go get fitted properly... something larger than a DD.
Waist - Then: 27 inches, Now: 43.5 inches.

I really don't think it will be that much longer. Today, at the appointment, the Midwife had me lay down to measure the heart beat and she said "Oh! You're having a contraction." I told her this was mild in comparison to my normal contractions. Before the end of the appointment, I had a firmer contraction and after confirming that it didn't really hurt (though I have had a few that did!) she said "Well, at least you're body will have lots of practice!" One can only hope!

New Pic, New Office

I think I'm at the stage where even maternity clothing sits funny on me. I didn't realize how 'crooked' this skirt looks until I saw it on film. Ask me what I did about it? Nothing. Skirts and dresses are the most comfortable things I can wear at this point, and I continue to out grow items in my closet, so this skirt's staying in the wardrobe for quite a bit longer.

This weekend was crazy with work. We moved our office, I've officially worked 7 days in a row and my next day off doesn't look like it will be until Friday. Oh, the joys of being a salaried employee. On a good note, I now have my very own (tiny) office. I had to give up my big executive cherry desk for a part of a modular desk, but at least this way after the baby comes, I'll be able to pump from the comfort of my own desk, in private, without anyone bothering me. I'm actually excited about it.

New Belly Pic

Well, here's my current picture. I really should invest in a tripod that will take vertical pictures. My current tripod was made for a video camera (it's a hand me down) and I'm really a vertical picture kind of girl... Hmm, I guess I could lay down on the ground and take a picture of myself, that would fix this whole problem, but instead, I use the only vertical tripod I "own": Nick. It's easy to get him to take the pictures... all I have to do is say "Honey, it's time for a belly picture, can you please snap one of me?" But it's hard to get him to understand the finer details of the SLR camera.

This morning, while taking this picture, I noticed that with the morning sun (not enough light), the shutter speed was a little slower than normal (I could hear it). I told him that. He looks at the tiny picture on the screen and says "Looks good to me!" And, I'll give him that... with the tiny image, it didn't look blurry. Well, when I upload it, lo and behold... it's blurry. I had him take a few additional shots with the flash (as to eliminate the slow shutter speed and eliminate the issues with the moving tripod). I don't like the coloring and, my I don't like my expression ... it's really hard to take pictures of yourself... suddenly laying on the floor might be my next option. As I only really have 10 weeks left to take pictures of myself... then, the REAL fun begins! (Pictures of our little monkey!)

Here's a picture with the flash (offset).

I love photography. I'm not great at it, but it's a fun hobby.
OK, I'm at 30 weeks. 10 weeks to go... holy cow, this has come along pretty quickly. I continue to get "Any day now!" remarks wherever I go. I know people want to be nice, but I still have 10 weeks people! I actually enjoy telling people I still have over 2 months. Their eyes bug out of their head as they try to wrap their brain around how much bigger my belly can get. People! I started out on the smaller side, there's no way to go but out! I really did start out with not much space in my abdomen. My co-worker would work on my psoas muscle (muscle that goes from the front of your spine, around the front of your pelvis and inserts on your inner thigh, it's a hip flexor and can contribute to back problems... there. I'm a nerd, now you see it. Anyway, he'd go to work on this muscle at where it inserts on the front of the spine... he'd only push in my belly for an inch and a half or so, and he'd be pressing on my spine. It's really incredible how much changes in such a short period of time with pregnancy.
Anyway, I'm done blabbering for today. Plenty more for posts later in the week :)

New Belly Pic

Here's my most recent belly pic. I was headed to a bridal shower and asked Nick to snap a picture before I headed out.

2 Ups

- We're getting closer!

- Our appointment with the Midwife went really well. I received all the paperwork for the 'pre-admission' and my birth plan and all that. Next appointment I have to turn it all in! It's amazing how time flies!

2 Downs

- We're getting closer! (Yikes!!! I don't feel ready yet!)

- The fatigue is back. Friday and Saturday night I was asleep on the couch by 8pm!

What are your ups and downs?

New Pic, Up's and Down's

So, a friend turned me onto a podcast site that I love! It's called pregtastic(http://www.pregtastic.com/) and I've become quite a fan. (Thanks, Alison!) I've found that I can sit and listen to the pod casts while I'm knitting for our little one. So, something they do every week with those speaking during the pod casts is ask their 2 Up's of the week and 2 Down's.

This week, for me:
2 Up's:
1) Our crib is in our nursery, everything fits: one double bed, one dresser (will be used as a changing table) the crib - so pretty! and a blue velvet swivel rocker that I inherited from my Grandmother. I love sitting in that room. Nick has practiced picking up our little girl out of the crib a couple of times :)
2) My diaper bag also came in. AND, I knit a really, really cute hat for the baby... working in a little cardigan now.

2 Down's:
1) I'm becoming more and more uncomfortable. I'll get numb in my legs if I sit wrong.
2) I'm not exercising as much as I'd like. AND, I'm starting to outgrow my maternity clothes (yikes!)

Comment with your up's and down's for this past week :)

Here's the new pic for this week!

Most recent belly pics

This is my FAVORITE outfit for at home. When I come home from work (or from being outside amongst the general public) I change into this outfit, often accompanied by a sweatshirt within 7 minutes of arriving home (1 minute for a welcome kiss from Nick, 2 minutes to pee and some extra time to drop off my stuff, not necessarily in that order, but you catch my drift).

Anyway, this was taken this past Sunday evening (21 weeks even)

Hopefully I can update these about every other week or so!

Finally, a picture!

OK, OK, I've been promising for way too long (who am I promising? Myself? Sure...) Anyway, here's a picture of this week's belly.

I've finally got a few maternity clothes, because thank goodness! I can't handle trying to piece together 5 different shirts that cover my barely zipped pants. I had someone at work actually say to me (tease me) "Good God, woman! Zip up your pants!" I hung my head in shame and said quietly "I can't". So, now I'm looking reasonable, almost 5 days a week.

5 days is really all you need, because, to be completely honest, I could care less who sees me on the weekends. I live in the same small town that I grew up in, so I see at least one person I know when I leave my house, ALWAYS. My mom used to ask me why I was putting on makeup when we were just running to the store, and, when we'd get there, I'd chuckle as I said "Hi Sue!..."

So, a few more pieces are on their way. Apparently there's been a 'weather delay' in Salt Lake City. Why are they keeping my super duper, totally comfy clothes from my belly?!?!? I'm not really that heartless, but I do want jeans. I'm so sick of black pants. That's all I've got (as is shown in the photo to the left, what a shocker). My jeans are on the way! Yippie! Now, if they could just get out of Salt Lake.

More belly pics

So, my good friend enjoys mocking me for taking these pics. Eh, I don't really care. I really want to see this thing grow... so here's the latest. I got my husband to shoot this one of
me... and, my goal is to take a pic before every doctor appointment, so at least I'll be consistent.

Without further adieu...
By the way... this is, by far, my favorite outfit, EVER. Not the best picture of me ever, but I'll keep that in mind for next time... for comparison, I'll dig up a few photos.
Oh, and one of my hobbies is photogra
phy. I freakin love it. More than I should. I take pictures of everything
. Good news? Everything's documented. Bad thing? I'm never, ever in any shots. So, I may have to dig deep into the vault to show a pic of my belly pre positive pregnancy test...
Ha, found one... my hair's grown qui
te a bit in a little under a year! I look super tired, but you get the point... Maybe I'll take my next picture in my favorite Yankee's t-shirt!

Well, now I'm in a picture searching mode... Here's one from our honeymoon and since my husband is so cute... here's his pic with the turtle! Just so you know... formatting gets weird with pictures... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this post to turn out without funky formatting!
